It is a freezing (literally) cold winter day, but PUB has just returned from a short ride to one of the local Sunday motorcycle haunts, where, surprisingly, there were still riders enjoying a breakfast or just a cuppa. Actually PUB is very lucky because there are two such popular places quite nearby, the ‘Super Sausage’ and ‘Jacks Hill Café’, situated a little south and just north of Towcester respectively on the A5 trunk road. Whilst the Super Sausage is relatively new, Jacks has a much longer history, having become a café in 1955. Whilst this is much later than the famous ACE (1939), nevertheless Jacks has a much longer continuous history as a transport caff. Indeed it still serves lorry drivers, although the filling station pumps were removed a few years ago, and the lorries are fewer due to the presence of a new, modern, and large, lorry park less than 20 miles up the road. Perhaps that is why Jacks now works hard on its weekend gatherings,
