■ DB CARGO: During the period under review some 13 HTAs arrived at DB Cargo’s workshop at Stoke-on-Trent for refurbishment, with a further 13 leaving the site to join the queue of proto-HRA wagons at Toton waiting for the ‘cut ’n’ shut’ conversion at WH Davis, Langwith Junction. The departing HTAs included No. 310625, which is the fifth example to be fitted with buffers at one end (the others being Nos. 310817, 311003/20/9), while No. 310694, observed on site at Stoke, is the sixth.
