Raising the Standard

ON one of the six roads inside the London Transport Museum Depot at Acton sits a four-car unit of Standard Stock. Constructed in the 1920s and 30s, regular visitors to the museum will have noticed that the driving motor cab ends have recently undergone some visible cosmetic restoration work.

Like the ‘Q’ Stock cars on an adjacent road, the very fact that any Standard Stock even exists can be credited to the late Bob Greenaway.
