TAKE CURRANT CUTTINGS

STEP 1: Now is the ideal time to take hardwood cuttings from currant bushes to get some new plants for free. Only propagate from healthy bushes and prepare the cuttings from this year’s growth using stems that are pencil thickness or more. Make the cutting about 20cm (8in) long or roughly the length of a pair of secateurs, making a straight cut below the bottom bud and a sloping cut at the top.
