TIMBER SUSTAINABILITY

As a building material, timber is a natural and renewable resource because it stores carbon through its life cycle and is recyclable. The production and processing of timber products uses less energy than most other building materials, in turn resulting in fewer emissions into the atmosphere.

When choosing timber, look for a Chain of Custody certification that meets the Australian Forestry Standard (AFS). This indicates whether the manufacturer supports responsible and sustainable forest management in Australia. All Boral Timber manufacturing sites are Chain of Custody-certified, which means all products from these sites can be traced from processing to distribution and are produced using certified, legal and sustainably
