This car has presence to spare, created by its 18ft 8in length, proportional girth, rumbling 440cu in mill and triple-black livery. It’s from the penultimate year of these ‘fuselage’ Chryslers with their pronounced tumblehome and airliner-like dimensions. In 1972 it was a $6000, 4400lb statement of status and individuality.
The superb and largely original condition is down mainly to the second owner, a native of Amarillo, Texas. He bought the car when it was barely two years old and looked after it into old age; his daughter eventually sold the car in 2015.
