Motorsport legend and all-round good guy Dan Gurney passed away on January 14 at the age of 86 as a result of complications from pneumonia. He was not only a superb world-class racing driver who could jump into any race car and tease the best out of it without being overly hard on it, he was also a brilliant and innovative engineer. His company, All American Racers (AAR) designed and built more than 150 of the famous and highly successful Eagle racing cars that have won in Formula One, Indycar and Sportscar events.
