Mach 1 turns 50

I remember the first time I caught a glimpse of one when I was just 12 years old. That forward thrusting snout, deeply set primary headlights; grille mounted high-beams, racy matte black hood and elegantly flowing fastback roofline made the 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 look supersonic even when just parked. Debuting midway through 1968, the 1969 Mach 1 was, in many ways, a marketing masterstroke.
