GARDEN IN THE SKY

Overflowing with plants and skilfully carved into a series of intriguing spaces, this rooftop garden is a place of sanctuary, which is rather surprising given its elevated and exposed position. Designed by BENT Architecture and built by MRU Constructions, the garden sits atop the Phoenix tower, a slender high-rise apartment block in the midst of Melbourne.

“The Phoenix rooftop garden is a green refuge in the unlikeliest of places — 30 stories high, on an exposed yet spectacular site in the heart of Melbourne,” says Merran Porjazoski, director of BENT Architecture.
