Fresh new face

There is no argument that the Hilux has consistently been South Africa’s best-selling vehicle by far, a mantle it has carried for many years. In September, Toyota’s cash cow sold 3943 units locally (export figure 3823), some way ahead of the sector rival Ford Ranger’s 3016 units. This was no doubt helped by the immediate sales success of the recent Dakar Hilux special edition release, which offered a preview of the latest update, with its attractive blacked-out Land Cruiser-style hexagonal grille and dark interior, among other upgrades.
