What the…. Are you going through the Namib with that? Whatchamacallit Fiat, what is this Fullback? Seriously, you are attempting the dunes with this vehicle? These were just some of the comments and questions I had to answer while fitting tyres at Tiger Wheel and Tyre in Worcester, before departing for Luderitz. This became the trend for the rest of the journey.
Fact is, Fiat has some form in the history of automobiles. We all know that during 1902 the Spyker Brothers built the first real 4x4 as we know it. That started a lifestyle, and nothing will be the same again. Fiat traces its history back to July 1899, and by 1918 it had grown to be the biggest motor company and factory in the world. One hundred years later saw us crossing the Namib Dunes in our Fiat Fullback. This story will be about our experience of the Fiat Fullback 2.4 diesel with automatic gearbox.
