❖ Scrap of feature print fabric (centre patch)

❖ Fat quarter light-value homespun fabric (lining of cushion front)

❖ 40cm (16in) square of batting

❖ 36cm (14in) square cushion insert

❖ Nine precut 1in paper octagons and 16 precut 1in paper crown shapes or template plastic, fine-point permanent-marking pen and 200gsm paper to make your own — see Note

❖ Fine mechanical pencil
