♦ Assorted fabric scraps to total about 4m (4⅜yd); most will need to be at least 4in x 6in (block ‘blades’ and corners)♦ 30cm (⅜yd) black print fabric (block centres) – if you wish to fussy cut motifs, you may need more, depending on the nature of the printed design♦ 20cm (¼yd) each of 16 different white print fabrics (block backgrounds)♦ 1.7m (1⅞yd) green print fabric (border)♦ 3.6m (4yd) backing fabric♦ 90cm (1yd) black and white stripe print fabric (sashing and binding)♦ Batting at least 175cm (70in) square♦ Paper for foundations — newsprint is ideal♦ Spray starch♦ Rotary cutter, ruler and mat♦ Sewing machine with ¼in foot♦ General sewing supplies
