MATERIALS

• 1.3m (1 3/8yd) taupe print fabric (background)

• 40cm ( 1/2yd) pale yellow print fabric (oven)

• Fat eighth solid white fabric (stove top)

• Fat eighth each of two dark grey print fabrics (oven, oven handle and knobs)

• 20cm ( 1/4yd) brown check print fabric (Border 1)

• Assorted scraps, fat eighths and fat quarters in a range of colours and prints (oven, pies, towel, rolling pins, pot holders and hearts)

• 30cm ( 3/8yd) solid pale yellow fabric (binding)

• 1.3m (1 1/2yd) backing fabric

• Batting at least 126 x 105cm (50 x 42in)

• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat

• Sewing machine with 1/4in foot

• General sewing supplies

Finished size: 110.5 x 90cm (43 1/2 x 35 1/2in)

Note: Read all the instructions before starting. 100% cotton fabric, pre-washed and well ironed, is recommended. Requirements are based on fabric 107cm (42in) wide. Seam allowances of 1/4in are used.

PIE BLOCKS

1 To make a pie block, choose two print fabrics from your assortment – one for the pie dish and the other for the pie crust. You will also need the taupe print fabric for the background.

2 From the print fabric for the pie dish, cut:

• Six rectangles, 1 1/2 x 2in.

3 From the print fabric for the pie crust, cut:

• 10 squares, 1in

• One rectangle, 2 x 6 1/2in.

4 From the taupe print fabric, cut: • Four squares, 2in.

5 Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of all the 1in squares of pie crust fabric. Match one of these squares, right sides
