On the road CENTRAL QUEENSLAND TOUR GUIDE

1. Townsville QUILTY DESIRES

Where’s Townsville: Townsville is on the north-eastern coast of Queensland. From Brisbane, take the Bruce Highway and head north, about 1300km.

Where in Townsville: The Attic. 12 Castlemaine Street, Kirwan. Off Thuringowa Drive.

Who plays host: Julie is the owner of the business and can be found in the shop, or the classroom. Judy, the quilter extraordinaire, toils away upstairs on the longarm quilting machine.

We stock a large range of Tula Pink, Kaffe Fassett, Michael Miller, Moda, Tilda, Batik and Indigenous fabric with accessories by Olfa and Clover. For the hand stitcher, we sell Cosmo and Cottage Garden Threads with patterns by Nikki Tervo. Specialising in longarm quilting on a Gammill Statler machine, we ensure a speedy two-week turnaround with quality results. We accept patchwork tops from all over Australia via post, and use only the best quality batting and backing. If it’s classes you’re after, we have many. Our regular Sit and Sew meets each Monday, monthly workshops are available and everyone loves Sew and Tell! Bus tours most welcome. Please call ahead.
