It probably doesn’t seem like two minutes ago that you were shelling out a small fortune on a 4K TV, utterly convinced that the picture you’d just been ogling in the shop was as close as you were ever going to get to real life. Fast forward a year or two and Samsung is about to launch what is essentially the first 8K TV available to consumers in the UK – with four times as many pixels than a 4K TV.
The question is, if you were mind-blown by 4K, how much better can this new technology be? Naturally, Samsung thinks you’ll appreciate the difference, hailing the Q900R – ranging in size from 65 to 85 inches – as “nothing short of brilliance in colour, clarity and sound”.
