‘WITH LOUIS XIII, WE THINK A CENTURY AHEAD’

f0207-01

Within the confines of the Library Bar at the Devonshire Club, Ludovic du Plessis is relaxed, making jokes and smiling. As the Global Executive Officer for Louis XIII, one of the most prestigious and enchanting wines and spirits in the world, du Plessis has a laid-back demeanour about him despite the role’s demanding criteria. Each month he spends at least three weeks travelling, and today he’s journeyed to London from Paris for this interview. Despite the sense of constant motion, he’s feeling at home, as 12 personalised glass cabinets fill the room with an amber glow from the Louis XIII bottles held inside. This is where members of the Devonshire Club venture for their drop of Louis, but it’s more like clockwork for du Plessis.
