The Skis of the Year

With a forecast of frigid temperatures, light snow, and low visibility, we tasked 33 skiers with finding the best of the 112 skis submitted to Powder Week. Every day, after skiing bell-to-bell at Big Sky, Montana, the Powder Union broke into smaller groups, sat down around a table, cracked open a beer, and talked about skis: what they liked; what they didn’t. What worked for some; what didn’t work for others. The 55 skis highlighted throughout the 2018 Buyer’s Guide—earning a coveted Skier’s Choice Award—reflect those conversations. You will find them on the following pages, grouped according to different skiing styles.
