A.I.R. Studio Paducah

A.I.R. Studio Paducah offers residencies of two weeks to three months to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in the Lower Town Arts District of Paducah, Kentucky. Residents are provided with a private apartment and studio space. The cost of the residency is $550 for two weeks and $875 for a month. For residencies in 2019, submit up to five poems of any length or up to 10 pages of prose, a résumé, a writer’s statement, and contact information for three references with a $25 application fee. American Literary Translators Association Conference

The 41st annual American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) Conference will be held from October 31 to November 3 at the Indiana Memorial Union at Indiana University in Bloomington. The conference features panels, workshops, readings, a book fair, and opportunities to meet with editors and translators. The 2018 theme is “Performance, Props, and Platforms.” Playwright and translator Caridad Svich will deliver the keynote. The cost of the conference for ALTA members is $200 before September 30, $225 before October 16, and $250 on site. The cost for non-ALTA members is $275 before September 30, $300 before October 16, and $325 on site. The cost for students is $50 before October 16 and $75 on site. One-day passes are available for $125 before October 16 and $150 on site. Lodging is available at the conference hotel for a discounted rate of $134 to $185 per night depending on the room. Art Omi Writers Residency

Residencies of one week to two months are offered to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators from late March to early June and from mid-September through early November at Omi International Arts Center, situated on 300 acres in the Hudson River Valley town of Ghent, New York.
