In the last few years, I’ve noticed an untethered connection to historical convention when it comes to automotive nomenclature, excluding pickup trucks. Back in the day, there were sedans, station wagons, convertibles, coupes, and roadsters. A dozen years ago, terms like “five-door,” “hatchback,” “CUV,” “ute,” and “pillarless sedan” were invented.
