I first read ’s work in 2015, with her publication of “It Will Look Like a Sunset” in the essay gained a lot of attention online, circulating through social networks, and was later included in that year’s collection, for very good reason. It’s a stunning piece that chronicles Sundberg’s decision to call the police when her husband abused her for what would be the last time. “From that point on, everything changed,” she writes. She first regretted the decision to call 911 and stayed with him for two more days, even helping him find a lawyer. But with the encouragement of her friends and mother, she went to a domestic violence shelter where she talked to a counselor who helped her decide
