Eric Schneiderman resigned as the attorney general of New York just hourspublished the accounts of four of his former romantic partners, who alleged that Schneiderman had repeatedly hit and verbally abused them. Even in light of the severity of the accusations, Schneiderman resigned surprisingly quickly compared with other politicians who have sometimes stayed in office for weeks after reports of sexual misconduct.
