STAYCATION
Near the end of summer, the Bow Tie brand decided to make its family-friendly three-row crossover—the redesigned Chevrolet Traverse—available for long-weekend trips within the great mitten-shaped state of Michigan.
The timing coincided perfectly with the other half of the Motor Trend Detroit staff’s plans to boogie well out of state.
That left yours truly hurriedly wheeling the new Traverse all over greater Detroit by myself—dashing to myriad news events all at the same time. As a result, I had the opportunity to take note of the V-6’s 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque, the transmission’s nine well-spaced ratios, and the suspension’s sharpened responsiveness.
