TECH MADE EASY

1 RA W vs Jpeg You can choose to shoot raw files or JPEGs – and there’s usually an option to record both at the same time. Some cameras let you shoot smaller raw files, saving on memory card space but still providing the flexibility of raw processing later.

2 IMAGE SIZE Digital cameras offer Large (L), Medium (M) and Small (S) JPEG image sizes. Some cameras offers smaller raw files too. Reducing the image size changes the number of pixels in your images, so you need to use this setting with care.

3 CARD SWITCHING Advanced cameras with dual memory card slots let you tailor the way that images are saved. For instance, you can choose to use one card and have the camera automatically switch to the other when it’s full, or you can save raw files to one card and JPEGs to the other.
