Maharashtra: CM Fadnavis's farm loan waiver scheme yet to identify legit beneficiaries

Speculation about blunders in finalising the list of legitimate recipients for the farm loan waiver in Maharashtra began mid November, when it became known that some 80,000 farmers had furnished the same Aadhaar number to avail of the waiver.

More than six months after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced his ambitious farm loan waiver, government officials are yet to even identify all the legitimate recipients, never mind transferring the promised money to the bank accounts of beneficiary farmers.
