Fortanach Outfitting Stories Series

Relax, they told her. Enjoy the trip.   This was the advice given to Ronnie as she boarded the Fortanach. It would take days to reach Station Fungboa, where the Fortanach would be outfitted to serve as a boutique cruise ship in space.   Relax. Ronnie was never good at relaxing.   Finding the freshly minted corpse didn't help.   Now Ronnie was trapped on a spaceship entering the between. No communication outside the ship for three days. Three days with a skeleton crew of strangers and one or more killers.   Relax. Enjoy. Ronnie wasn't good at either.   What to do? Ronnie could hide in her room with the door bolted until they arrived at the space station. Or, she could follow her compulsions and search out the killer, risking her own life.   What would you do? Ronnie knew what she would do. And it made her mad enough to scream.  

Solving murder wasn't in the job description   Ronnie is the outfitter for The Fortanach. Previously a troop transport, The Fortanach is to become a boutique cruise spaceship for the wealthy. It's the perfect job for someone focused on every little detail.   Sometimes her obsession leads her astray.   There's been a death aboard The Fortanach - an indentured worker in an airlock. Ronnie has a schedule to keep and duties to perform. The last thing she wants is to get involved.   The last time almost got her killed.   When the station marshal declares death by misadventure, Ronnie can't help herself. She doesn't believe the finding and now she can't stop focusing on the problem. The more she investigates, the more trouble she causes. Can she solve the murder before she becomes a victim, too?
