The life of an adventurer isn’t always a glamorous one. Belgrieve finds this out the hard way when a deadly encounter robs him of his leg and the ability to pursue his dreams not long after setting off for fame and fortune. But fate isn’t finished with this retired adventurer! While gathering herbs in the wilderness, he discovers an abandoned baby girl and names her Angeline after deciding to raise her as his own. Angeline grows up to become a top-tier adventurer in her own right, yet after venturing out into the world and making a name for herself, fame, fortune, and power hold no allure for the accomplished S-rank adventurer: her heartfelt wish is for nothing more than to see her father again.

Belgrieve’s return to Turnera has been marked by many brushes with larger-than-life figures, including a legendary adventurer, an elven princess, and a mysterious foundling with mystical powers. In the midst of all of this, Belgrieve is forced to confront old, unresolved feelings about his past that have smoldered within him since his adventuring days came to an end so long ago. Meanwhile, after resuming her adventuring life in the big city, Angeline has done her father the dubious service of seeking out prospective brides for him (to no avail). But her planned return to her home town (with new friends in tow) is thwarted by a surprise summons from the archduke seeking to unify the region. The sudden imposition naturally enrages her, but what awaits her is a fated encounter!

Thanks to a strange turn of fate, Angeline was able to reunite her father with one of his former adventurer comrades, the archmage Kasim. Now with spring approaching, Belgrieve intends to bring everyone back to Turnera with him, but the unbreakable bond between father and daughter has left the two so concerned for one another that they ironically can’t seem to find common ground. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Byaku begin training in magic, only to encounter a certain problem. Where is this ever-growing little family headed, and what will become of the young magicians-in-training?

After reuniting with his old friend Kasim and solving Charlotte’s problem, Belgrieve and company return to Turnera. Angeline immediately warms up to her new little brother Mit, and the growing family spends their days in peace. Their happy time together, however, is cut short when the forest near the village suddenly gains sentience and begins to attack people—worse yet, it seems to be after Mit and his demonic powers! As the situation grows dire, the Paladin Graham makes a stand! How will the father and daughter duo overcome the crisis threatening their home?

After rescuing Mit from the malice of the ancient woods, Belgrieve and Angeline set off on their first proper adventure together. Their goal: the long-awaited reunion of Belgrieve and an old comrade. Along the way, they happen to cross paths with an old acquaintance of Kasim’s, a guild master. But as fate would have it, a disagreement leads Belgrieve to lock blades with her... Eventually, after so many long years, Belgrieve finally manages to find his former party member Percival. Their reunion, however, isn’t entirely a happy one. An ideological clash between the two men—one bound by the past, the other resolutely facing the future headlong—is inevitable. The only question is who will prevail in the end.

After a long and perilous journey to the Earth Navel, Belgrieve finally succeeds in locating the second of his missing comrades. The dangers of the road are a fresh reminder of Belgrieve’s limitations, and he begins to doubt his ability to continue his quest. But with the support of his daughter and friends, he finally manages to reconcile with his old party member Percival. Resolved to see things through to the end, they continue their journey to find the elf Satie, the last member of Belgrieve’s old party. But Angeline faces her own test of character as she grapples with the knowledge that there’s a side to her father that she never could have known, and Belgrieve is at a loss to address her heartache. Perhaps the time has come for their journey together to end, and for her to find her own path... Their troubles are put on the backburner when they reach the imperial capital amidst rumors of an elf’s revolt against the nation. Could Satie be involved?

At last, the gang gets back together! Belgrieve’s journey to find the last member of his old party, Satie, has led him and his companions to the imperial capital of Rhodesia—a majestic city with a dark underbelly, rife with scheming and plots. Their seemingly simple quest to reunite with a long-lost friend is now inexorably bound up with the fate of the empire itself. Amidst the plotting and intrigues of the city, they soon learn of Satie’s solitary war against the impostor who has supplanted Crown Prince Benjamin and his clandestine alliance with the legendary archmage Schwartz. Belgrieve soon realizes that the cost of laying his past to rest may be greater than he’s willing to pay.

After a long and arduous journey spanning the breadth of the empire, Belgrieve has finally laid his regrets to rest and can begin thinking about what the future holds for his steadily growing circle of family and friends. With the defeat of the imposter Benjamin and the restoration of the true prince to his rightful rule, Belgrieve returns home with Satie as his bride and quickly settles back into the rhythm of country living—too quickly, if Kasim, Percival, and Angeline have anything to say about it. With the spring festival just around the corner, the three of them begin plotting to get one over on the mature new couple with a surprise wedding ceremony. But even as everybody enjoys this lighthearted break from the challenges of adventuring, Belgrieve and Angeline’s hard-fought happiness may soon be put to the test as the Blue Flame of Calamity makes moves in the shadows to realize his dark ambitions.

After arranging her parents’ wedding at the spring festival, Angeline and her friends return to Orphen to resume their activities as adventurers. With all that they endured on the road, Marguerite is poised for a major promotion, and soon Angeline, Anessa, and Miriam’s party will officially become a quartet. Back home, Belgrieve finds himself juggling the traditional demands of life in the countryside with all of his new responsibilities as a husband and soon-to-be guildmaster. Life in Turnera is on the precipice of major changes, and the whole village is grappling with the challenges that will come of having a dungeon and a guild. The future seems to be bright and full of optimism for all—but the portents of calamity are also beginning to manifest. Though Belgrieve succeeded at laying his past to rest and reconciling with his comrades, forces with their own ambitions will soon make their play in this final chapter of Belgrieve and Angeline’s adventures.
