Judit Polgar is immensely gifted, as a chess player. It shows you what is possible, though it doesn't show you how it developed. Her style reminds me of Bent Larsen or Mikhal Tal. They are exciting chess problems against many of the strongest players of the 2010's.

At the age of 14, Judit competed only against men. She once said: 'These other girls are not serious about chess. I practice five or six hours a day, but they get distracted by cooking and work around the house.' In 1991 Polgar became the youngest grandmaster in the world, breaking Bobby Fischer's record. Among her many tournament victories are the Boys' World Chess Championships under 12 and under 14, and two Olympic gold medals with the Hungarian national women's team (together with her sisters Susan and Sofia) in 1988 and 1990.
