About this ebook

Mariana chose me, knowing exactly what that meant. She’s tasted the darkness I live in, let it sink into her skin. Now, there’s no turning back. She’s in too deep, craving the chaos I bring, bound to the world that could destroy her. Each day she’s slipping further—away from the woman she was, closer to the shadows that surround me.

But every desire, every surrender only draws more enemies, more blood. The lines she swore to keep have faded, replaced by the thrill of crossing them. Now, every step with me tightens the snare, every whispered promise pulls her into a life that might never let her go. The threats around us are relentless, ready to tear us apart at any moment. And in this world, trust is deadly.

Mariana must make the ultimate choice: give herself over completely to the darkness that binds us or risk losing everything, including herself. Love becomes a weapon, and survival means surrendering to the very shadows she once feared.

    MARIANA

We crouched together in the dark alcove, the world outside fading away as I focused on Amir beside me.

His presence was a comforting balm against the chaos of the night.

The sound of footsteps grew louder, and I felt my heart race—not just from fear but from the intensity of the moment we were sharing.

What if they find us? I whispered, glancing up at Amir.

He leaned closer, brushing his lips against my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

    They won’t. Just stay quiet.

His breath was warm against my skin, igniting a fire in me.

I had never been this close to anyone before, especially not in such a dangerous situation.

I could feel the tension building between us, and despite the fear, I was drawn to him more than ever.

The footsteps paused, and I held my breath.

I could see the outline of a figure moving past, their shadow casting a dark cloud over us.

I clenched my fists, trying to stay calm.

I’m here, Amir said softly, turning his head slightly to catch my gaze. You’re safe with me.

His words washed over me, soothing my anxiety.

I wanted to believe him completely, to lose myself in the warmth of his confidence.

I felt the urge to touch him, to close the space that felt electric between us.

As the footsteps faded into the distance, I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.

Amir’s eyes bore into mine, and in that moment, the danger felt miles away.

Do you think it’s over? I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

For now, he replied, his tone low and serious. But we can’t stay here too long.

I nodded, but a different urgency stirred within me.

I shifted closer to him, drawn by an unseen force.

Amir, I began, my voice shaky. I—

But before I could finish, he leaned in, capturing my lips with his.

The kiss was soft at first, almost tentative, but it quickly deepened as the heat between us surged.

I melted into him, my hands finding their way to his hair, pulling him closer.

    AMIR

Kissing Mariana felt like setting fire to my very soul.

I had never experienced such raw desire before, and I knew I couldn’t hold back any longer.

The world outside disappeared as I focused solely on her, the soft curves of her body fitting perfectly against mine.

I cradled her face in my hands, deepening the kiss, tasting the sweetness of her lips.

She responded eagerly, pressing against me, igniting a hunger I had never known.

The tension from earlier melted away, replaced by a rush of passion that threatened to consume us both.

Mariana, I breathed against her lips, pulling back just enough to look into her eyes. You don’t know what you do to me.

She looked breathless, her cheeks flushed, and I could see the desire mirrored in her gaze.

I can’t help it, Amir. You make me feel alive.

My heart raced at her words.

I wanted to explore every inch of her, to take her in fully, but I also knew we were still in danger.

The risk of being found only added to the thrill, making every moment with her more intoxicating.

Let’s get out of here, I said, reluctantly breaking our connection. But I promise, once we’re safe, I won’t hold back.

    MARIANA

My heart raced at his promise, and I nodded, eager for more. Okay. Let’s go.

As we stood up, I felt a rush of adrenaline.

I wanted to escape the danger, but I also wanted to dive deeper into what was happening between us.

There was a fire igniting in me, and I
