About this ebook

When the feral feel cornered, chaos reigns.

Sasha Stone, betrayed before the clan she'd only just regained control of, is hell-bent on revenge and cares little who witnesses her wrath. With her sights set on Blaire Davies and all who helped aide in her humiliation, she's blinded to the war closing in on Canterbury Cove. Until she's caught in the middle and forced to side with those she'd come to tear apart.

Blaire Davies, distracted by her recent triumphs, did not sense trouble brewing on the outer rim of Canterbury Cove until chaos rains down on the street, leaving her face to blood-covered jowl with her archenemy. When humans enter the beast-war, guns drawn, Blaire must put aside her blind hatred and side with the one person she vowed to destroy, or risk the annihilation of all she swore to protect.

Can these women find a way to work together to stop a war, or will they become victims themselves in a centuries long fight for survival?

I’D LIKE TO DEDICATE THIS STORY TO ALL THOSE WHO BELIEVED IN ME. THOSE WHO’VE ONLY RECENTLY COME INTO MY LIFE, CHANGING IT FOREVER. TO THE ONES STILL HERE BY MY SIDE AFTER YEARS OF RIDING WHAT I’LL ALWAYS CALL ‘MY ROLLERCOASTER AUTHOR CAREER’. AND THE SUPPORTERS, GONE YET NOT FORGOTTEN.

WE LOST MANY IN 2020, INCLUDING MY BROTHER-IN-LAW, TIM. HE ALWAYS SUPPORTED ME, EVEN WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS GOOD. IT’S BECAUSE OF ALL YOUR LOVE THAT I’M STILL PUSHING FORWARD, LIVING AND LOVING MY DREAM.

TO THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE.

    CHAPTER ONE

THERE WAS NOTHING worse than a pissed off woman. Except for one who was made a fool of, belittled before the very clan she’d only just recently won over.

And that pissed Sasha Stone off more than anything she’d been through since overthrowing and devouring her father.

With her limbs shaking, her hands balled into fists at her sides, she growled through her clenched human jaw. Her gaze narrowed, fixated on the pair sitting inside Canterbury Cove’s little slice of homemade heaven, Bonnie’s Bistro.

Just watching them laughing, holding hands, like they hadn’t just ripped the earth out from under her claws boiled her blood. Not just for her injured pride when the woman used her magic on her, the orb in her hand not only controlling her body, but her thoughts. No, it was for stealing her thoughts and replacing them with ones that devastated her still to this day.

Sasha lowered her head briefly, biting back the pain in her chest at the memory of stripping Lance of his burial ceremony, his remains set aflame, ultimately banishing him from the clan. Something she would never have done if she was in control of her own mind.

A tear slid down her cheek, but she swiped it away and straightened her back, her gaze back on the pair.

You will both pay, she spat through her clenched jaw.

To steal someone’s thoughts, replace them with something they would never do... it was maniacal. No one should have that kind of control. To not only kill one of her clan, but to be sure to completely erase him from history by controlling Sasha’s thoughts... that was unforgiveable. That meant blood would spill. And she didn’t give a lion’s ass if every Cover witnessed her wrath.

She took a step towards them, her intention to make them pay, show them who they had fucked with, only to be stopped by distant yip, yip, yips that intensified quickly.

She turned toward their calls in time to see the mountainside litter with hyenas. From behind her, throated growls interspersed the yips. Before too long, lion cubs were visible on their embankment, fur-covered backs arched, sharp fangs visible through their snarls.

    Oh shit, she cursed.

But it was too late to do anything more, because one minute Canterbury Cove’s residents’ only worry was a pissed off hyena woman in human form. The next, years of truce were on the brink of complete destruction, threatening to destroy all three species and their way of life.

    .*.*.*.

BLAIRE DAVIES SAT before her boyfriend inside Bonnie’s Bistro, and couldn’t help but wonder how she’d become so lucky.

She smiled, leaned her head into her hands, elbows on the table.

Yeah, she was swooning, and not discreet either. But it wouldn’t matter, because their relationship was an open book. There was little she didn’t know about him, or him about her. And not because she could hear his thoughts, but because she cared enough to see.

Shane Hunter’s cognac eyes were wide as he spoke, his hands moving with his lips.

She never noticed until then just how expressive he was with his hands. Hands that were human,
