About this ebook

"I, Gabriel Foster of the Nightfall Pack, hereby announce that my fated mate Raine will be joining our pack. I hope that everyone will treat both Raine and Luna Elena with equal respect in the future."
My husband Gabriel had announced in front of all of our pack members on our third wedding anniversary that he had found his fated mate.
I stared blankly at the two figures cuddled up in the center of the hall as a wave of numbness washed over me and I listened to all of the members of the pack congratulating them wholeheartedly.
Gabriel's so-called Fated Mate, Raine, feigning innocence and vulnerability, handed me a glass of wine. But that glass of wine took my life!
Yet, the Moon Goddess decided my story wasn't over. She granted me a second chance. This time, I am determined to peel back the mask of that bitch and make Gabriel experience a regret so profound it will be his living torment!

The Broken Luna's Revenge - Lance Lunar

    CHAPTER 2 The Dungeon

    Elena's POV

Yes, Luna, it's me, Raine mocked as a smug smile crept across her face. Her appearance had changed drastically from her innocent, pitiful appearance at the banquet as she looked down at me with malice dancing in her eyes. Her hair was no longer a pretty chestnut color, but in this moment it had changed inexplicably to a brash shade of red.

Fuck! Was Raine actually a witch?! The red wine! She must have poisoned me with the red wine just now.

What are you doing? What do you want from me? I asked weakly as I tried desperately to reach Chloe. Clearly, the poison had affected her too because I couldn't seem to get through to her. As much as I hated to admit it, there was nothing I could do. I was completely at Raine's mercy.

Pathetic Luna, I bet you never thought that something like this would happen to you, did you? Raine sneered as she pulled a dagger from its holster at her side and gestured at me with it.

Don't do this, Raine. If you kill me, Gabriel will never forgive you.

Raine laughed, tilting her head back as she shook with laughter. Ah, you're too funny. Perhaps you should have been a comedian instead of Gabriel's Luna. she said as she wiped a tear away from the corner of her eye and sneered down at me once more, the hatred burning in her eyes, I am Gabriel's fated mate, not you. Everything that you had, now belongs to me. She hissed as she pressed the tip of the dagger to my face, allowing it to pierce the skin on my face. I could feel the skin split painfully under the pressure and the gradual trickle of blood as it slid down my face, but I was so weak that I couldn't even raise my arms to push her away.

I'll tell you another thing, Miss Elena Brown, this relationship between me and Gabriel... everyone knew, She smiled cruelly as I felt my heart shatter, His Beta, all the members of the pack... they have known for such a long time. It was only you that had no idea.

The poisonous smirk and venom in her words pierced my heart at the exact moment that she raised the dagger above her head with a wicked glint in her eye. A wave of cold dread washed over me as I realized what she intended to do and I looked up at her with wide eyes and disbelief written all over my face as she plunged the dagger down, slicing through the skin of my chest and shattering my breast bone as the cold metal pierced through my heart.

Everyone you ever loved and cared about abandoned you for me, Elena.

The unbelievable image in front of me seemed to fade away and I was left numb. I had never imagined that I would meet my end in such a way. The fury burned brightly inside of me at the injustice of it all and I swore that if the Moon Goddess would just give me one more chance, I would make sure that both Gabriel and Raine would pay for their betrayal with their lives.

I had found myself walking aimlessly in a forest shrouded in mist, with no clue which direction I should be heading. Without warning a blinding light filled the forest in front of me, piercing through the fog and chasing it away as its gentle rays danced across my face.

Was I dead? Was this the afterlife?

I walked towards the light with my arm outstretched, straining to touch it but suddenly, a loud noise seemed to explode in my ears.

Luna! Please, it's time to wake up!

What? I yelled in surprise as I sat bolt upright in my bed in an all too familiar room. I looked at Omega Amy in front of me in disbelief, whilst I tried to wrap my head around what was happening.

I'm so pleased you're finally awake, you were sleeping like a log! she chuckled., There's still a lot to do today in preparation for your third wedding anniversary tomorrow with Gabriel, not to mention the preparations that need to be made for the banquet.

Wait... what? Are you telling me the banquet isn't until tomorrow?

    Well, yes, don't you remember?

I reached up and placed my palm over the area on my chest that the dagger had penetrated so violently, but there was no sign of any injury. Could it be that everything that had happened had all been a dream?

I jumped out of bed quickly and headed straight to my desk, picking my diary up out of the drawer. This diary was invaluable in managing my day-to-day life. I recorded my mood daily and a summary of the events of the day, I also kept track of official functions and pack-related affairs in there so I didn't forget a single thing. Every morning I wrote a list of the things that I needed to do that day.

I turned to the page that should have held the list that I clearly remembered writing as soon as I woke up on the eve of my anniversary, but the page was blank. Confused, I flipped back through the previous day's entries but they were exactly as I remembered.

Could it be that the Moon Goddess had actually granted my wish?

Ignorantly, expecting things to be different this time, I followed Amy to the banquet preparations as the scene of Raine and Gabriel embracing played constantly in my memories. Her final parting words to me echoed painfully in my ears. Everyone that you ever loved and cared about abandoned you for me,

Had it just been a dream or had it actually happened? If it was just a dream, then why did the pain in my heart feel so real?

My honorable pack members, I welcome you all here today and wanted to thank you for coming at such short notice. It is with great pleasure that I can officially announce today that my fated mate, Raine, will be joining our pack. I sincerely hope that both Raine and Luna Elena will be treated with equal respect.

The banquet proceeded exactly as it had in my dream and Gabriel repeated his speech word for word. Could it really be that the Moon Goddess had heard my cry for justice and really given me a new life?

    Elena! Elena!

    Yes... is that you Chloe?

Oh thank the goddess that I can finally talk with you again!

Chloe, what the hell is going on? We... I stammered in complete disbelief.

Listen my dear, I'm just as confused as you are, but the one thing that I am sure of is that we did die before. You weren't dreaming.

Then why didn't you answer me when I called for you?

Because of that whore! We need to be very careful, Elena

Before I could organize my thoughts, Gabriel took the initiative to push Raine towards me this time.

Elena, this is Raine. I feel terrible, but, I have to confess... I found my true mate.

I watched Raine carefully as she picked up the glass of wine on the table and walked over to me in a dignified manner, whilst holding herself respectfully.

My Luna, please take pity on me and allow me to live under your roof. Please, let me show you my appreciation with this glass of red wine.

I peered into the glass in front of me as I took it carefully, squinting and scrutinizing the liquid within, but it looked just like ordinary red wine. There was no obvious signs of it having been tampered with and if it wasn't for the fact that she had already killed me with this trick previously, I would never have suspected that there was such a potent poison contained within.

I shook my head and pushed the glass back into her hand.

No. you already dirtied this glass with your disgusting hands, I won't drink it.

Raine seemed to freeze for a moment as if she was stunned at my refusal, and for the briefest second, a flicker of anger crossed her face. In the next second, the anger was gone, replaced by that innocent, pitiful look that she faked so well, complete with tear-filled eyes. You are right, Luna. My status is far below yours, I should not have...

That's enough Raine. There's no need for you to apologize, Gabriel said gently before turning to me with a furious expression, Watch your words, Elena!

I couldn't believe this two-faced little whore! If I hadn't already seen her for what she was, I would have been completely taken in by this kind, gentle, and vulnerable facade that she was portraying right now.

I scowled at Gabriel and was about to retort with a sarcastic reply, but Raine suddenly raised the glass to her lips as she stared at me with the barest hint of a smirk on her lips and drained the glass of red wine that she had offered to me only seconds before. I blinked at her in shock.

Did she not poison the wine this time?

In a matter of seconds Raine crumpled to the floor coughing up blood and I stepped back in horror as shocked gasps rose from around me. Gabriel was by her side in an instant with a panic stricken expression etched onto his handsome features.

    Raine! What happened?!

As Raine sank into Gabriel's arms, she looked at me with the perfect imitation of misery written all over her, her bottom lip trembling as she spoke. Luna, I really didn't want to destroy your marriage... why would you do this to me?!

Gabriel's head whipped round to face me and his eyes held my gaze in an icy fury. He pulled Raine closer into the shelter of his arms as his eyes narrowed menacingly.

Guards! Detain the Luna and take her to the dungeon!

    Gabriel?!

    CHAPTER 3 Rejection

    Gabriel's POV

Gabriel? Did... did I do something wrong? Raine sobbed and looked up at me with her tear filled, innocent looking doe eyes as she lay weakly in my arms.

No, my love. You didn't do anything wrong, it's all that damn woman's fault!

I stared at Elena coldly. This all made sense. I had seen her hand that glass of wine back to Raine and I kicked myself for not expecting this jealous woman to try something like this.

Guards! Detain the Luna and take her to the dungeon!

What? Gabriel... you can't be serious?! How dare you do this to me!

Shut the fuck up Elena! Guards! Restrain her if you have to.

Ignoring Elena's shouting I gave the guards their orders as I picked Raine up as gently as I could and carried her out of the banquet hall.

I told you long ago that Elena was not our mate and things wouldn't end well with her! My wolf hissed furiously at me, panic stricken about our mate's condition.

Daniel, please. I didn't think for a minute that Elena was like this. I had only ever seen her kindness and compassion.

Elena and I had met in high school. She was the only heir to the Ironclad Pack, and an Alpha too. As the Alpha of the Nightfall Pack, I had always felt that we were almost made for each other. It made sense for us to pursue a relationship, even if it turned out that she was not my fated mate, I still thought that together, we would provide strong leadership for our packs. I had no intention of changing my mind.

All this time my wolf, Daniel, had been trying to warn me that something like this would happen, but every time she looked at me with chocolate colored eyes, I saw nothing but deep love and affection radiating there.

She was a caring and attentive wife and an excellent Luna. Elena had always made it known just how deeply she loved me and she had worked for the benefit of our pack in everything that she did. After our pack's merged, I became the most powerful Alpha in our kingdom. As a rare pair of Chosen Mates, our love story had been the topic of gossip on everyone's lips. We had become the legendary couple that everyone aspired to be like and nobody had anything bad to say about me, I was the perfect gentleman in their eyes.

All Elena and I had to do was play our respective roles as we had been doing and everything would have been fine, but now, it turned out she had a hidden side to her that I knew nothing about.

I'm sorry Raine, my love. I should have spoken to her about this sooner and perhaps it wouldn't have come as such a shock to her. If I had given her time to adjust perhaps you wouldn't have gotten hurt

I laid Raine on the bed gently and called the doctor to treat her. My poor fated Mate had only just broken free from the torment of her pack's destruction, and now she was faced with another trauma to deal with.

It's okay Gabriel. It's not your fault, I don't blame you at all. None of us could have guessed that Elena would do such a thing, especially because she holds the title of Luna.

Oh yes, such a Luna behaving like this, I spat in disgust, If she can behave like this in front of me then what else is she capable of behind my back?

After I had left the doctor with instructions to look after Raine, I called Bate back into the banquet hall. The guards had Elena pinned to the ground and restrained on all sides. I made my way through the crowd that had gathered around her to watch.

Elena, I had always thought that you were a kind woman, I didn't expect you to use such an underhanded and despicable method to try and get rid of my fated mate!

It's funny, because I also naively thought that my husband Gabriel Foster, was also a good husband!

I gritted my teeth together tightly and looked at the stubborn, prideful woman before me. Reaching forward quickly, I took hold of her chin, pinching it tightly, and forced her to hold my gaze. If you are willing to admit your mistake Elena, and accept Raine's presence here as my fated mate, then I will forgive this...unpleasantness and you can keep your position as Luna.

The woman in front of me suddenly smiled and her eyes began to turn a bright purple, a warning that she was ready to use her wolf Chloe's abilities. I quickly too a step back from her and without warning the guards who had held her down were thrown away from her with such brutality that tables and chairs scattered as their bodies collided with them. What should have been a perfect anniversary banquet was now nothing more than a mess.

Elena! Are you insane?! You actually attacked your own guards!

Yes, I'm fucking insane, she growled.

Elena stared at me with her purple eyes shining dangerously and an unhinged smile on her pretty face. The expensive evening dress that she had chosen for the banquet was torn in several places, revealing her beautiful pale skin underneath.

As much I hated to admit it, this version of Elena that stood before me, beautiful in her rage was an incredible turn on.

She turned around to face the pack member assembled for the banquet and spoke loudly in confident voice that carried the full length of he room.

I, Elena Brown of the Ironclad Pack, hereby officially reject Gabriel Foster of the Nightfall Pack, and from this moment forth, I am no longer your Luna.

What the fuck are you talking about?! I yelled in panic as I rushed over to grab hold of her arm roughly, and spun her to face me.

Don't you understand? She sneered, This is the end of our relationship.

You actually dared to reject me?!

I hadn't even punished her and this damn woman had chosen to reject me before anything was decided.

    Fuck!

You'll regret this in the future Elena! I Gabriel Foster of the Nightfall Pack, hereby accept your refusal! You will now be arrested for murder! Guards! Take this damn woman to the dungeon!

    CHAPTER 4 Mate

    Luke's POV

Enough already! Stop talking about the possibility of a chosen Mate!

Time and time again I had to suffer listening to this group nag at me over and over again at every damn meeting with the Elders. I have told them countless times that I will not choose a 'suitable Luna' from the candidates they presented me with constantly. I was firm in my decision to wait for my real mate to appear, no matter what her status or rank, it didn't matter. I would accept her no matter what.

I slammed the door shut on my way out and my Beta, Leo, opened the car door for me, looking at me with understanding in his eyes as he attempted to reassure me. Luke, calm down. There's no need to get angry with those ancient antiques, we still have the party to get to at the Nightfall Pack and we need to hurry. We're already late.

I don't know why you're complaining. It's not like I flipped the table or anything, Leo. At least I showed up to the damn meeting.

The car moved steadily toward its destination at the Nightfall Pack, and thanks to the exhausting day I had suffered, I drifted off to sleep in the back seat.

Suddenly, my wolf Bleddyn let out a feral, animalistic, roar, and the power that rippled out of my body was so severe that it startled our driver and the car swerved violently to the side, hitting the kerb briefly before he regained control of it. Leo looked back at me in horror from the passenger seat.

I was just about to ask Bleddyn what was going on when the image of a beautiful figure appeared suddenly in my mind. Her long hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, her elegant dress hugged her figure gracefully and her purple eyes seemed to call to me, full of allure and mystery.

My heart was beating so rapidly that I felt like it was going to burst out of my chest. Who was this woman?

    Luke! It's our mate!

    Mate?

I looked out of the car window as we crossed into the Nightfall Pack's Territory and I knew instantly that my mate was here somewhere.

We pulled to a stop at the guardhouse and after letting them know who I was, they waved us through without issue. Before we drove through, I asked Leo to find out where Alpha Gabriel was.

After a short while, we were met by Alpha Gabriel. He was followed by a petite woman who didn't look at all like a Luna from the way she was dressed and the two of them were visibly stunned when they saw me.

Luke Wilson! Well, I must say, it's a pleasure to have you here! I'm terribly sorry though, something awful happened at the banquet and we've had to finish early. Gabriel greeted me, bowing respectfully as he did so.

You should call me Alpha, Gabriel, I reminded him as I glanced at the girl behind him. She had obviously been startled by my tone as she ducked behind Gabriel as if wanting to hide from me. I cocked my head curiously...there was a strange scent coming from that girl and I couldn't put my finger on what it was.

My apologies, Alpha Luke. Gabriel said hastily as he bowed again and turned to try and reassure the petite girl behind him.

My mate is somewhere in this pack, I announced, Find her and bring her to me.

This... Alpha Luke, I'm sorry, that's not possible... Gabriel grimaced.

You have five minutes and I want to see every one of your pack's females, I growled. All I wanted to do was find my mate and something told me that she wasn't in a good place right now. I needed to see her so that I could make sure that she was safe.

Very well,Alpha Luke, Gabriel consented reluctantly as he instructed his Beta to gather everyone as quickly as possible.

I watched as a group of she-wolves appeared in front of me and walked past me one after a time, baring their necks and bowing in submission as they greeted me. I closed my eyes and inhaled each one of their scents that lingered around them, but none of them felt right.

No, my mate wasn't here. Where is she?

I got out of the car and stormed over to where Gabriel stood, my eyes flashing golden in my wolf's fury as I took hold of him tightly around the neck and lifted him off the floor. I told you to bring all of your females out to me. I snarled furiously.

The females that had gathered gasped in fear, and the weaker ones fell to the ground trembling in fear as my Alpha aura washed over them. Only one female stood there trembling fiercely. Your Highness, we are all the females in the pack. Every one of us is here.. she whispered fearfully.

Alpha Luke, please, let go of me, Gabriel protested as he tried to break free.

I sneered and tightened my hold on his neck, slamming him against the wall.

How the fuck are you going to stop me with your pathetic strength, Gabriel?

    Luke! Please!

I already told you to call me Alpha, Gabriel! Don't make me repeat myself! I roared, throwing him to the ground.

Luna..Our Luna! She's locked away in the dungeon! One of the maids suddenly spoke up from where she cowered on the floor.

I had to find my mate quickly and as far as Gabriel wasting my time went, I would see to that later.

She's my Luna! What the fuck are you going to do about it?! Gabriel roared behind me.

I straightened up my suit and glanced at him and the woman who clung to him like a leech and had been terrified from the first moment she had seen me. Your Luna? You put YOUR LUNA in the dungeon?

I shared a look with Leo before I left the area and smirked to myself as Gabriel's angry voice followed me out.

What are you doing?! Stop him!

Even with the pathetic intervention of
