Introduction
EFL Role Plays to Spice Up Your Classroom is an indispensable resource for any EFL/ESL teacher who wants to raise the fun factor in their lessons.
Key features:
60 role-plays for B2-C1 level learners
Conflict-based scenarios
Print-ready and easy to use
Built-in vocabulary explanations
Organized by topics
Gender-neutral and stereotype-free content
This collection of role-plays is created for you, teachers and educators, to have a wider arsenal of warmers and time-fillers to complement your EFL lessons.
The target audience is B2-C1 level high-schoolers and adults.
Each role-play card includes 2 phrases each student can use and check off, and 1 or 2 potentially new phrases for B2-C1 learners with their definitions.
Since these role-plays are designed to create a bit of tension and disagreement, I might recommend...
a) Establishing a safe space where students don't feel inhibited to express themselves.
b) Allocating some time to decompress after the task. It's worth discussing with the students what their role expectations were, how they managed to express them, what was difficult, fun, and unexpected.
c) Reminding students that they should seek compromise if they have encountered a deadlock.
d) In more conflict-avoiding cultural settings, highlighting the importance of learning to deal with situations where people are less amenable, which is more reflective of the real world.
Have fun teaching!
