INTRODUCTION
It is a worthy and mostly satisfying venture to begin and build your own business. Its benefits are numerous. Yet, before climbing up the ladder of success, make sure it is leaning on the right wall. This is especially true of startup CEOs wishing to immediately taste the freedom, in all its form, that comes with running their own business. A word of caution here. Many a time, we are enthusiastic about starting a new venture, leaving our regular jobs to pursue a career in a field of our passion. Sadly, the measure of enthusiasm hardly translates into the same measure in success.
Owing to the current economic situation in the world today, the scope of the SME climate is fast changing with more persons venturing into the business world in pursuance of entrepreneurial ideas, skills or talents. Many more are learning a skill, trade and acquiring more certification to serve a foreseen market.
Many of these would-be enterprises and business owners lack the necessary skill, market resource and/or access to business structure needed to guarantee continuity, competitiveness and adequate output.
Statistics have shown that nine out of every ten startups fail within the first three years of establishment due to a number of reasons wrapped around market needs, management and business competence. Hence, a major business direction and marketing vacuum exists, thereby necessitating an uncompromising need for adequate guidance, market exposure and training for entrepreneurs, businessmen/women as well as business directors. This is the foundation upon which this course is laid: to provide the basic necessities for the entrepreneur in business founding and establishment.
Business models are increasingly becoming more important and developing a unique business niche may eventually be the winning factor in your marketing scheme. A successful business begins from the design phase. This is the relevance of this course.
This course will help you clear the fog in making business decisions. It is a blueprint for successful business establishment and founding. We have laid in timeless and proven principles to guide and provide assistance that will guarantee you success in your business journey.
This book is designed to equip you with the needed resources, skills and know-how in developing and establishing your own business. You will be exposed to the various types, aspects and necessary resources of business so you can decide the one suitable for you. We took the liberty to include a list of viable business niches the young and fresh-from-school entrepreneur may wish to try as a first business. They don’t require your qualification: just your business knack. If you are studying
