… the book is AMAZING!!! I love it!!! It reflects in a such clear way, who we are, and how our consciousness works in this multidimensional world. I felt 100% reflected and finally someone was able to put in writing what I feel so strongly. On another note the list of recommended online resources is fantastic.

Foreword
Stanley Krippner, Ph.D.
In 1977, Dr. Howard Eisenberg published Inner Spaces, a pioneering book that enabled its readers to apply the findings of parapsychological research to their daily lives. His current book greatly expands the scope, providing ways in which people can use their imagination to envision better lives. Not only does he review centuries of pertinent philosophical and scientific literature, additionally he outlines specific methods and procedures by which his readers can implement the shamanic adage of dreaming their world into existence.
Underlying these processes is the provocative contention that consciousness is not the by-product of one’s brain and body, but is fundamental to all of existence. Just as the universe is constantly awakening to itself, individuals can rouse themselves from their culturally imposed beliefs, their conditioned habits, and lifestyles that they automatically follow without reflection, awareness, and critical thinking. The philosopher Alan Watts urged his audiences to go beyond their skin-encapsulated egos
to transcend their society’s limitations. Another philosopher, George Gurdjieff, attempted to rouse people from their waking trance.
Both philosophers provided exercises to awaken
to the greater reality, and Eisenberg follows in this tradition.
Drawing upon ancient wisdom and contemporary scientific discoveries, Eisenberg asks his readers to take a daring plunge into a different way of perceiving the world than what they have been taught. But for what purpose? The inhabitants of contemporary civilizations are marked by discontent, massive depression, and catastrophes of their own making. Eisenberg is well aware that we are living in critical times and his book is a valiant effort to turn the tide. His suggestions are thoughtful—but they are also practical. They are based on connection, community, and love. It is my fervent hope that they are widely considered and practised; if so, this short book will have massive effects for a world badly in need of healing and redirection.
Stanley Krippner, Ph.D., is currently Associated Distinguished Faculty at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He is an internationally eminent psychologist, parapsychologist, and author of several hundred research papers and multiple books on altered states of consciousness, shamanism, and parapsychology. He is a recipient of the American Psychological Association’s Award for Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Psychology.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
