    TOUGH TIMES

A war begins in the year 2020 between the United Countries (UC) and the United Alliance of the Anti-Knowing (UAAK). Global political upheavals shock citizens. Fear permeates lawless cities around the world. Roaming gangs, peacekeepers, looters, and individuals seeking clean water, food, and energy threaten local survivors. Crooked financiers confiscate businesses wrecked by conflict. Property scalpers seek properties to sell on the black market. Carnal bartering is rampant. Dignity is shelved as coarse survival strategies darken souls. The death of parents gives birth to peculiar persons, neither children nor adults.

The UAAK’s military, the U-Squad, create a nuclear attack system undetectable by the UC. Due to critical losses in the year 2023, the UAAK decides to end the war. Tired and without financial support from allies, the UAAK pushes a fatal button, raising hell to earth. Explosions erupt. Plumes of smoke and vermillion flame fog skylines. The earth grows cold and pitch black. Survivors call this environment Entity. The darkness feels like an invisible villain killing horribly, silently, and quickly. Surviving mothers suffer double pain: despair over the desolation and the excruciating deaths of children. Strange new illnesses pervade the world without remedy. Regions lack doctors or medicine to help the millions
