About this ebook
THE CASE AGAINST MASKS is the book all America needs to be reading as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. Written by New York Times bestselling authors Dr. Judy Mikovits and Kent Heckenlively, this book reviews the evidence for and against widespread public masking as provided by the Centers for Disease Control and the Mayo Clinic, as well as top scientific publications such as the New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet. This debate needs to take place without fear and paranoia. Important questions raised in this book are the affect of masks on oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, how SARS-CoV-2 spreads, the effectiveness of various types of masks, those who are most vulnerable to COVID-19, and whether our children should go back to school in the fall, and if so, what measures they should take.
The authors' previous book, PLAGUE OF CORRUPTION, was the runaway science bestseller of 2020, and the authors bring that same passion and attention to detail to the mask question. As politicians and bureaucrats of all stripes are weighing in on this question, with some placing their cities and states under mandatory masking provisions, we need to understand the science behind their decisions. Are such measures a reasonable response to current circumstances, or is it a dramatic overreach, which in many cases might make the situation even worse? America desperately needs this public conversation to take place with the best science we have available. As Americans have always done during difficult times, we must summon the courage to have these challenging conversations.

Excellent book! I really was relieved to read this; some sunshine of common sense from the darkness of fear & paranoia. These continuous, hysterical cries for censorship & monitoring of “mis/disinformation” (whatever that is??) should be far more concerning than an unmasked Kindergarten student! This is madness, & I’m just so discouraged that there aren’t more people who are willing to say so.
And about these constant rants about “following the science?”, “science has spoken”, science is settled”; etc… I am sorry to be the one to bring up this inconvenient truth, but there is no such thing as “settled science.” Science is never supposed to be “settled” on ANYTHING! Science does not, and should not EVER have, an agenda. For one to follow the science, one must actually follow the “Scientific Method”. For one to follow the Scientific Method; one must actually…. Follow. The. Scientific. Method!
Does ANYONE at all remember the scientific method? You guys remember that, right? We were probably in the 2nd, maybe 3rd grade? We learned about how all sciences are based on these very specific series of steps that we follow, in order to make informed, intelligent, consistent findings, that were unbiased by design? from biology to chemistry to geology to “insert the name of every single science” here, the basic premise or rules are pretty much the same idea, no matter the discipline.
Just a quick outline; & I’m obviously not a scientist, but this is just the basics as I remember them. First, 1. You make your observation, or you establish what it is that you are trying to prove, or to demonstrate. 2. You look for any existing information, variables, etc relating to your question that may already exist. From there, you take the observation detailed in the first step & transfer the idea into a specific, concise question, or query to be answered. 3. Now, you form your hypotheses, or your best guess, your premise, as to the outcome of your question. 4. Now, you make a prediction of the outcome or the results you expect to yield in the following steps; 5. Now, do an experiment to test your prediction. 6. It’s time to analyze your results- do the results prove your hypothesis to be correct or incorrect? If it is incorrect, then go back to step number 3. & try again by forming another hypothesis, based on your next best educated prediction and continue on with the next steps until you are able to prove or disprove your theory.. If your results prove to be correct, that’s great! The very next step should be the same regardless of the outcome- you should record/report your results, whether or not your experimentations were successful in proving your hypothesis or not, because, in science, there are not supposed to be “wrong” answers, just a series of experiments along the way to finding all of the answers to all of the questions.
How many times in history have we had to “revise” the science that was supposedly an absolute settled fact? From flat earth, witches at the stake, bleeding patients with a sore throat- the list is endless. We are not smarter than all of those who came before because we are superior! We have learned, and then reaped the benefits from all of those experiments that were tried, failed, recorded, and tried again, failed, recorded, etc until they finally didn’t fail.
I don’t think we want to be the generation & society that decides that real science is a thing of the past because we now know everything there is to know… Do we? I hope not, because that will be a very dark place. We know that, because other societies have already followed very dark paths, path that we are perilously close to stumbling across unless we quickly change course!1 person found this helpful

Silly to presume that breathing back in your expelled carbon dioxide is bad for you. If you get light headed sure take a breather. There are gizmos to exercise your lungs to make them work harder for air. Maybe it’s even good for you to wear a mask as long as you aren’t breathing in fibre glass flakes — something not mentioned and east enough to resolve with an extra layer inside a cheap mask.3 people found this helpful

IT’S QUITE OBVIOUS THOSE LEAVING NEGATIVE REVIEWS NEVER EVEN BOTHERED READING THE BOOK. The author specifically refers to known Scientific FACTS and back them up by citing legitimate sources. The ONLY peer reviewed study of cloth and hospital masks was performed years prior to Covid (2015) and PROVE cloth masks pose more risk of infection than anything else!
It is incredibly discouraging to see so many indoctrinated people repeating the same exact rhetoric of mainstream media. They are so hell bent upon believing what they prefer to believe, they label all dissent with emotionally charged terms intended to minimize or dismiss all other information.
To such extent, they ignorantly demand publishers censor all publications they dislike. These kinds of people are no less dangerous than any other domestic terrorist! When the same people who accuse you of having oppressive or totalitarian politics - make such absurd, life threatening demands, it becomes quite easy to identify the enemy. Not only are these people incredibly LAZY, they are Anti-American, Anti-Science and Ego-maniacal!*
Anyone who insists we “follow the Science” need not censor, hide, speak over or silence such information. Science speaks for itself! Vaccines and Masks either work or they don’t. No book burning, journal retracting or “cancelling” necessary! If you want to prove a drug or product useful or safe, get off your ass and do it! No one cares about your flapping jaws.
THE AUTHOR OF THIS BOOKS KNOWS HOW TO - FOLLOW THE SCIENCE! ?❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️2 people found this helpful

Junk science, similar to the "science" some people use against vaccinating their children for various diseases such as polio, diphtheria and whooping cough. Because of the anti-vaxxers, these diseases are coming back in full swing. Some people die because of these diseases, and others become disabled. I am deaf from contracting measles as a child. Pseudo scientists and conspiracy theorists, while allowed their freedom of expression, should be limited in some ways, as they can be dangerous to some parts of the population.5 people found this helpful

I can’t wait for the fog to clear and we can finally admit out loud that we were lied to and taken for fools for 2+ years. The truth will be exposed. They can’t deceive us forever.
The saddest part of this whole thing is the kids that are being treated like guinea pigs and have no voice, nor control. And parents aren’t even allowed to speak out against this abuse being waged on our youth. Kids of all ages are suffering. Regardless if they’re toddlers and have no natural immunity built up due to insane, absurd mandates. Or the school aged kids that have to wear masks all day long (except in the cafeteria at lunchtime, bc everyone knows Covid doesn’t spread in school cafeterias, obviously) that haven’t made viable friendships bc they can’t get too close to one another and have gone years without seeing their classmates smiles. And the teenagers that have been isolated from their friends, had extracurricular activities canceled, and are suffering from severe depression. But let’s not worry about any of that. Just shut up and comply. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Introduction
You know you’ve seen them. Perhaps you’ve even been one of them. The people who are so terrified of catching a deadly virus they drive alone in their car with a mask on. Or maybe you go for a walk or run outside, soaking up that good sunshine and vitamin D, but you make sure you put on that mask before you step out your front door. Perhaps while outside you see a young couple pushing a toddler in a stroller and notice the toddler has a mask on in addition to the parents.
It’s not my intention to make fun of these people. The information we get is so confusing and contradictory that we collectively shrug and say, Well, better safe than sorry,
and put on a mask before heading out the door. Or maybe you even wear it while inside your house, sitting down to watch television with your family.
Suddenly, the world has become a very terrifying place.
However, I don’t believe you make the best decisions when you’re scared. The reasoning part of your brain becomes overwhelmed with fear and takes action that, when later considered, seems illogical. Before you get too far into this book, I want you to make a conscious effort to reduce your fear level. If that means you are sitting alone in your bedroom and wearing a mask as you read, terrified of the viral particles you imagine that may be floating unseen around you, then keep that mask on. I doubt you will be wearing it when you finish this book.
I want you to calmly and rationally look at the evidence and arguments in this book and come to your own conclusions.
Reason #1
Oxygen is Good for Human Beings and Carbon Dioxide is Bad!
It comes as a surprise to most people to learn oxygen is not the most common gas in our atmosphere. That designation belongs to nitrogen, which according to our most accurate measurements, comprises 78.1 percent of the air we breathe.¹ Nitrogen is an extremely stable gas, and while plants use it for nitrogen fixation (a very critical process for life), it does nothing for us. We breathe it in, and we breathe it out.
By contrast, oxygen makes up only 20.9 percent of our atmosphere and it’s where the action is with biological organisms.² Oxygen readily engages in chemical reactions and that’s why it’s critical for life. Carbon dioxide makes up 0.04 percent of our atmosphere.³ Carbon is also another
