    A thin crescent moon floated high in the sky in the midst of ragged black clouds. Watery moonlight disappeared from time to time as the wind swept the clouds across the sky. Trees between the graveyard and the house thrashed about and the sound woke Julia.

    She got out of bed and went to the window. The darkness was occasionally broken by the moon's light and shadows danced in the graveyard below like strange nightmare creatures. Julia shivered and reached up to pull the curtains closed. As she did so, two small bright lights flashing through the blackness caught her eye and she paused. The lights disappeared, only to reappear moments later a little closer to the small stone fence which separated the graveyard from the house.

    'A rabbit,' she thought as she closed the curtains and returned to her bed.
