There are worse ways to wake up than to a champagne breakfast in bed served up by three yummy, scantily dressed boyfriends all wishing you a happy birthday.

There probably weren't any better, Gina decided.

It had been a month — four weeks and five days — since that fateful dance concert where she had made a suggestion that she still couldn’t believe had left her fevered brain and issued from her mouth: that the four of them — herself and the three ballet dancers, Jim, Matt, and Sam — should all try a nice summer affair. Together. And they’d agreed.

And it had been wonderful.

The night she’d spent the previous winter with her sort-of in-laws Sean, Andy, and Prior had shaken her world to the core, no doubt, and that first night with her dancer boys had been just as mind-blowing, if not more so.

What she hadn’t known — what none of them had known — was how quickly it would feel real. Like something that could last. If she wanted it to. If they wanted it to.

The three boys had already been close before they met Gina. Sam had been the mother hen who’d kept their friendship going. That Matt and Jim were also attracted to each other — that was something none of them had expected.

And when Gina had inserted herself into their lives — she now spent almost every night in their Sunset District apartment — it had created a sense of wholeness that they all could feel.

They’d talked about it the previous night, between rounds of Fortnite that shifted from Save the World to a cutthroat session of Battle Royale — which Gina had finally won, luring Jim into a booby-trapped room. As the bullets flew and explosions sounded, they had all begun to talk about the summer. About what they’d found together.

Which, no shock, they all loved.

Of course, none of them had used that very loaded word. Jim had said their arrangement was choice — which he assured them was as positive as positive could be. Matt had said the new intimacy with Jim and Sam — and, of course, Gina — was amazing. Sam had been stoked (which they all gave him shit about) and had thought the whole summer had been fabulous.

Gina had agreed, telling them (as she fragged a player from another team) that the past four weeks and five days had been a dream, one from which she’d have been happy never to wake up.

What she hadn’t told them — because they already knew, though none of them had discussed it — was that she was dreading waking up. She kept avoiding looking at the calendar, but knew without looking that she would have to leave the dream in three weeks and two days in order to start her senior year of college.

Who the fuck came up with the idea of starting school in August? Whoever it was deserved to be shot. And blown up. And then shot again.

After breakfast was done, the boys led her to the apartment’s bathroom. Let us pamper you, Sam pleaded, and how could Gina say no to that?

Jim lifted off her HAN SHOT FIRST nightshirt, revealing a half dozen new bite marks from the previous night, while Matt removed her hair ties, releasing her mop into an extremely messy, extremely unsexy failed afro. Sam, having dropped his PJ pants, turned on the shower and held out his hand.

The first morning she’d spent with the boys, they’d all taken turns fucking her in the small shower stall.

Stepping into the shower with Sam, she thought she might be up for a repeat, well satisfied as she was from the night before, but wasn’t completely disappointed when he began to smooth soap over her neck and shoulders. Nor was she completely surprised when Jim and Matt slid their way in naked on either side of her — pressing close in the tight confines of the stall — and began to wash the rest of her body.

No titillation here. They were all three more than capable of teasing her to insanity. This was clearly intended to be just what Sam had said: pampering her. Cleaning her from head to toe, soothing the small aches and pains that four weeks and five days of passion had left in her body.
