The Goose Is Loose: And Other Stories from Poppy’S Place
()
About this ebook
The delightful words in The Goose is Loose are written with a smile and a hint of mischief, while the beautiful pictures bring to life the colourful, impish characters. A goose with a penchant for biting bums. A large, happy bull who thinks he is a dog, the dazzling duck who believes that he is the best and a kangaroo who fancies bread and chocolate biscuits, are just some of the quirky characters in this book.
The funny animals come to life in this collection of humorous poems about life on Poppy's farm. Designed to remind children and adults that poems can tell an interesting story and that rhyming can be fun.
Sharon Whitecross
Sharon Whitecross lives in Queensland with her husband and adult family. Par of a large family herself, she started writing at an early age and realized that she was able to put words together in a sensitive and expressive way and create poetry that is easy to read and enjoy. She turned to writing inspirational poems after the sad death of her mother and this collection is born from her desire to comfort other people in their times of sadness. Sharon's love of words and their healing energy will hopefully be enjoyed by many who read her poems.

The Goose is Loose
When we go to grandma’s it’s always so much fun
They have a beaut new swing set, a pool and room to run.
They have some chooks and some ducks, which sit upon the dam,
But they also have an untamed goose, who’ll bite anyone she can.
Grandma tries to lock it up, but she finds her own way out
And you never know she’s stalking, until Poppy starts to shout,
The goose is loose, the goose is loose. Look out here she comes
And whenever you hear those scary words, everybody runs.
The goose will get you
