    2. Introduction

First of all I want to thank you for giving this program a chance, a chance to improve your livelihood. Through this program you will improve your physical look, how you feel, your energy level, which you have, and the most important of all, your health. The exercises in this manual are in no way complete representation of all the exercise techniques and programs that can help you improve your abs and core conditioning. However, I have offered some basic exercises and program drills to get you started in the right direction. Ultimately, the best exercise or program drill would be the one that changes your current state efficiently and effectively. This means that exercise or program that improves function would be considered the most functional and appropriate exercise or program for you at the time. These exercises are not designed to replace a workout. They only complement an existing program.

Please note that this manual is not just another book about Abs. This manual is unique because it incorporates three separate segments - Posture, Abs and Core - into a functional whole. Only if you develop all three segments equally will you get the best possible results. This manual is designed to be a practical guide to your abs and core perfection, as well as your proper posture alignment. It is interesting that I wrote a chapter about posture last, but I think that’s the most important part of this manual. Why? Because everything, every movement, begins and ends with posture whether you are sitting or standing. If you have bad posture that will directly affect your health. On the other hand, if your posture is optimal your movements will be more economical and more efficient.

What is core? To understand this, think about core as a connection or link, between the upper and lower body. All communication between them takes place through core. Many functional activities in everyday life or sport require the trunk stabilizers to transfer force symmetrically or asymmetrically from the lower extremities to the upper extremities and vice versa. If the trunk does not have adequate stability during these activities, kinetic energy will be dispersed, leading to poor performance as well as increased potential for injury.
