I am an educator, first and foremost, by trade, as well as a tutor and a mentor for students at local colleges around the San Francisco Bay Area.My adventure into the world of education first started back when I volunteered for the Peace Corps and found myself in uncharted territory in Uganda. I didn’t even know a single word of their native language. Determined to interact with the locals to help them as much as I could, I immersed myself in studying the local dialects and picked up the language in no time. My travels then brought me to a multitude of countries, resulting in the need to continually learn new languages in order to meet the demands of the work. It was through those experiences that I began teaching other members the very strategies I used myself, which eventually transitioned beyond language acquisition.Since then, I have broadened and discovered and developed different teaching methods for simplifying the most complicated learning processes. Whether it is studying for an exam, acquiring a new skill, or gaining more knowledge, there is always an easier way to learning just about anything, while also making it fun.I believe that learning concepts and obtaining mastery over any discipline do not need to entail pulling your hair out. Most students learn best when they do so involving various creative interactivities and multimodalities, such as visual, auditory, and physical. I employ a diverse set of tools and techniques to help people succeed in whatever academic field they choose and career path they want to establish for themselves.To this day, nothing energizes me more than seeing my students adopting what I have taught them to now leading prosperous lives.view less
