As chapter president, Jim organized campus canvases, ran mock elections, organized lobbying efforts and managed get-out-the-vote drives, all while he earned a degree in political science.
After college, Jim went on to enjoy tremendous success raising money for local and national republican candidates. This led to a position working for the former Oregon Senator, Bob Packwood, before the senator left the senate under less than favorable conditions. Jim then moved to Washington D.C. where Jack Abramhoff introduced him to the inner workings and main players of the Grand Old Party. This eventually provided Jim the opportunity to join George W. Bush’s administration and work in the White House where he was later appointed to the role of Forty-Three’s personal minder.view less
