Bernardine Evaristo won the Booker Prize 2019 with her novel, Girl, Woman, Other and the one-off Women's Prize Outstanding Contribution Award in 2025. The author of ten books, her 2013 novel Mr Loverman was adapted into a BBC 1 drama series in 2024, winning two BAFTAS. She has received over 90 awards and honours and is Professor of Creative Writing at Brunel University of London. Bernardine Evaristo
Bernardine Evaristo won the Booker Prize 2019 with her eighth book, Girl, Woman, Other. Her many other awards include the British Book Awards Novel of the Year and Author of the Year 2020. She is Professor of Creative Writing at Brunel University London and President of the Royal Society of Literature (est. 1820), the second woman and first person of color to assume this role.
