Shenice Lockwood is hoping for an amazing softball season. Her team, the Firebirds, are an all brown team of trailblazers in U12 softball. Shenice has her eyes on the regional championships, But she gets a little sidetracked by life which includes meeting her gread-uncle and hearing a story of how her great grandpa's baseball career was derailed and getting asked to help make things right. And there is racism that she and her teammates encounter that leaves them rattled. There's a little Easter Egg with an overlapping character, Scoob, from Clean Getaway.
A quick read that will appeal to many readers.

Atlanta. Shenice is trying to lead her all-Brown softball team to several championships. Shenice is a great character, and her family's pride in her accomplishments is amazing. Love the connection with an elderly uncle that leads to her uncovering a mystery and righting a long-ago wrong. Love the teamwork and the truth of distractions. Great read
