Love is a promise - for better or worse.  When a group of eight cousins and friends leaves their Indiana Amish community for a weekend getaway, a horrific accident brings them home forever changed. Permanently disabled by the accident, Wayne Lambright struggles to take care of himself. He can’t imagine being able to be the kind of husband his fiancée, Loraine Miller, needs. Determined to sacrifice his happiness to give her a better life, he breaks their engagement. When Loraine’s old boyfriend Jake Beechy returns from exploring the English world, Wayne does everything in his power to help Jake regain Loraine’s love. Loraine refuses to believe Wayne doesn’t love her anymore. For better or worse, Loraine wants to be Wayne’s wife, but if he won’t agree, should she promise her love to Jake? How will God work to bring Loraine the true desires of her heart?

Another strong series that rivals Beverly Lewis' Amish series. Can't wait to see where it goes from here!

I don't like saying negative things about books but this is not one I would recommend. Very predictable, one-dimensional characters and flat writing. I won't be reading anything else by Wanda Brunstetter.

A group of Amish young people are travelling to an amusement park for the day when the van they are riding in crashes. Some of the young people lose their lives and the lives. Those that survive will have their lives changed forever. Book 1 follows the lives of Wayne Lambright and Loraine Miller. The two had planned on being married before the accident. Loraine still wants the wedding to take place but Wayne no longer wants to marry her.

Wanda Brunstetter is my favorite author and she has written another wonderful book. I couldn't put this book down. I would recommend it to anyone who likes reading Amish fiction.

The title of this Amish romance should be Accidents as it's loaded with one tragic accident after another. I do not remember ever having read a book so crammed full of mishaps.

The plot is slow moving and repetitive, almost to the point of stopping--only to speed up at the satisfying end. The large cast of characters are rather flat, but since this is the first in the Indiana Cousins series, I expect them to be fleshed out in books to come. Several of the characters have problems that will drastically influence the course of their lives. Tripod is one unique character that's worth watching. I like the author's interweaving of the Plain People's jargon.

Fans of Amish specialist Brunstetter, will enjoy this one, and be interested in some starter for Friendship Bread. Discussion questions are included at the end as well as a recipe for Loraine's Favorite Chicken.
