About this audiobook
A girl doesn't have a date for the school dance—until her dad makes one for her in his lab. "Lily—meet Stitchy." A family enjoys a nice Thanksgiving dinner—until they are interrupted by a torrent of turkeys out for revenge. A princess meets a pea-brained suitor. And the battle of two red hot pepper weenies ends in flames.
Critically-acclaimed author and master of the macabre David Lubar returns from a journey into the darkest depths of his brain with thirty-five more warped and creepy tales. And in the tradition of the three previous Weenie collections—In the Land of the Lawn Weenies, Invasion of the Road Weenies, and The Curse of the Campfire Weenies—he reveals the inspiration behind each story at the end of the book. Don't be a weenie. Read these stories...if you dare!

I'll admit I just read this because I really thought I'd finish the book I was almost done with afterwards so I wouldn't end the year on this. It didn't work out that way. My son first read this series when he was 10 and he's 13 now and still holding onto them...I think they're maybe too dark for 10-year-olds and too juvenile for 13-year-olds having read this one. The one thing I did really like though was at the back of the book where Lubar explains his thought process for each story. I thought that was interesting and cool to read. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Saplings that could grow into Twilight Zone episodes. Most are at least a little funny, a few are poignant, a few are truly creepy. Perfect for 9-12 year-olds, surprisingly fun for anyone else who just can't get enough of short-short SF&F stories. I will look for more by the author. Oh, the 'Weenies series' books definitely stand alone.
