About this series
In all the regions of Lyria the races that walked through the lands were many, and none so wild as the forest orc. Their skill at hunting was matched only by their desire to live free and in harmony with nature. Some wild things cannot even be tamed with magic, no matter how dependent their captors make them.
Blood Flower was taken prisoner by a tainted shaman when she was a child. She became a woman with the power to command the abysmal and shadow magic her Master forced into her the moment he captured her. On her first night of freedom she meets Thalia, a pacifist healer. Stunned by the death that follows Blood Flower, Thalia discovers how little the orc woman knows of the world outside the islands where she was held captive. Together, they face the covetous might of monarchy, temple, and coven, as they build a friendship that neither celestial nor demon can sunder.

Violet and Rowan were born identical twins, sister and brother. Aside from their birthday and their similarity in facial features, they shared little in common other than their adoration of handsome men, and playing online roll-playing games. Naturally, they jumped at the chance to beta-test Tales of Lyria. The night of the expansion release, Tales of Lyria: Glacier Citadel, they’d arranged to meet their friends in the in-game tavern, the Parting Shot, so they could explore and adventure. Instead of hoisting digital tankards of ale, they awoke from a storm induced blackout to find themselves in the journeyman challenges of the Diamond Tower of wizardry and the Rogue’s Guild. As a Diamond Tower wizard, Violet must bond to the spirits of the charms she’s been collecting since the first day she beta-tested the game. If she fails, her wealth of charms becomes property of the tower. To advance in the Rogue’s Guild, Rowan must pit his wits against traps, monsters, and his newly acquired female form. Separated and facing life-threatening circumstances, how will the twins react to their introduction to life in Lyria? Will they find each other? Is Rowan pissed that he used his sister’s photo during his beta-test character creation and personalization? Can Violet make a life for herself as a wizard without succumbing to the dark emotions that she’s pushed into a corner and decided to ignore?

Adeline was accustomed to not quite knowing what was going on around her. Twenty years living in nations whose languages were everything other than English, ensured that. However, she was not accustomed to hallucinations – especially ones that included her waking up outside Nightelm Garrison. The garrison was the beginning training grounds for game characters of human and dwarven stock in the online roll playing game, Tales of Lyria. In the game realm of Lyria, cities are filled with all manner of races, class trainers and adventure. To a woman who spent her life teaching English to students of other languages, the game is a way to connect to the world around her. Lyria was a place of magic, danger and opportunity at every character level. Waking up in a live action version of the game had never crossed her mind. Despite her disbelief at what her eyes saw and her ears heard, she was forced to accept that she had managed a way to make her life even more unpredictable. After all being a mimetic sorceress named Adeline Murphy couldn’t be as bad an omen as it sounded right?

Ellestanya craves knowledge and power, as a Wizard of the Obsidian Tower it is expected that she will grow to be powerful. The day of her advancement to journeywoman, she left the safety of the tower determined to explore Midnight. Before she made her way through the dark roads and twisting alleys of the Warren, she encountered a pair of hypnotic eyes that reminded her of her familiar – the viper, Leo. Spice needed to escape the Warren. He had one duty, and to achieve it he required a companion. When he spotted the wizardess walking boldly through the Warren, he knew his luck had turned for the better. Before he revealed himself to her, the wizardess crossed White Bridge and took her rest upon the 9th level of the White Tower. The only tower of the Seven Towers of Moonglow that stood empty. Tammara had been traveling through the Western Steppes for seven moons without resting anywhere longer than three days. For a Cleric of Frey, grace was advanced only through action and unfailing service. She was enjoying the quiet grace of the White Tower deliberation chamber when her prayers were interrupted by a pair of bickering voices. If she thought moons of constant travel were a test of her fortitude, how will she survive adventuring with a wizard and a rogue?
- Fellstra
Fellstra’s life was not demanding. She need only keep her father’s house, and cook for him and her brother. Having been taught the basics of herb craft and ink creation by her mother, she filled her days harvesting herbs outside the city walls. Always returning in time to ensure her father had no reason to speak to her. When she discovered a hidden book of spells, there was no one to keep her from learning magic. The day Fellstra refused to wed, she was banished from Darkwind City by her father and physically sent away by the might of the temple priests. She was sent to an isolated monastery, and never expected to return. It was at that monastery, in the frozen heart of winter, that Fellstra discovered the strength she needed to be come a warlock. It was the perfect place to train, learn and harness her arcane might as she battled creatures, elements, and the Kahn. Warlocks, unlike wizards and sorcerers, had no fixed training ground, until Fellstra returned to Darkwind City. To be a warlock meant that your magic was bound to your duty. To fail in your duty would cause your magic to consume you. That was the price every warlock paid to command the arcane. It was a price Fellstra was forced to pay the day she joined the Pigeon Blood Council, and was named Master Fellstra. It was the price she was all too willing to pay, to ensure the destruction of the Kahn Raiders that killed her mother and threatened her home.

WE Kelton
You would think a person with an advanced degree in a science discipline would have more sense than to be a fiction writer. Alas, I apparently skipped that session of course work and ran full bore at the Science Fiction and Fantasy wall. If you heard a teeth rattling sound a while back, pay it no mind - it was just me trying to knock sense back into my own head. Apparently all it did was knock a couple more story lines loose. Go figure.
