About this ebook

Seamus O'Donnell has loved Mine for many lives, and he can remember most of them. Unfortunately for Seamus, Mine can't remember a thing, and Seamus can remember every little detail except how to act when he's around Mine. All the passion they had before, now seems to turn into awkwardness.

Mine keeps having dreams about Seamus. Hot dreams. Weird dreams. Dreams that he's blue. Even though he knows he knew Seamus before, for the life of him, he can't remember how, and no one will tell him a thing. As much as he desires the gorgeous man in front of him, Mine can't be sure that it's a mutual thing, and he doesn't plan on getting involved with anyone until he knows what's going on.

When on Winter Solstice they find themselves trapped in a cabin alone in a blizzard, things get more than a little intense. As they battle weather, nature, and a plan that seems like it could only be designed by the ancestors, they wonder if this is just one more life time keeping them apart, or if they might finally be reaping the seeds of love?

To all those who remember true love, no matter how long it takes them.

Thank you to all kind readers who have patiently dealt with me going back and forth between Seamus' and Seamus's. I was taught as a child to write the former, but realized the Chicago Manual of Style, which American fiction follows, uses the latter. Thanks for your patience and understanding if that has changed over the years in Seamus's story.

    Chapter 1

Seamus stared out the window at the man shoveling snow. Mine, he thought. At least he used to be. Who was he now? It had been over a month, and neither of them seemed to know.

As if he could feel Seamus's eyes on him, the tall man turned around, making eye contact with Seamus. Seamus felt as if he were being pulled into those eyes. That same intensity he had always felt before, Seamus could feel now, yet lately, the minute they were together, it all seemed to disappear into awkwardness.

The clock on the wall read noon. We need to be out of here long before five in this weather. Seamus turned his head as he heard a light knock on his office door.

Come in, Seamus said in a loud voice, knowing the walls in this old building that had once been a train station, were almost soundproof.

The door slowly opened, and Seamus watched as his parents entered the room. They wore big matching winter coats, complimented by jeans, snow boots, and snow caps. In his mother's hands was a giant basket that Seamus recognized from his youth. It was the basket that his family used for picnics.

Happy Winter Solstice! We brought a little something for you and Mine, his mother, Susanna, said.

You came all this way in the snow? Seamus asked, hoping the gratitude was evident in his voice.

Susanna waved the basket at him with a big smile filling her face. We figured if you and Mine had to work, the least we could do is bring you lunch.

And we also brought you a snowmobile, Seamus's father, Raferty, explained. Your mother and I each rode one in, but we can ride back on one and you and Mine can use the other one to get home tonight.

That's really sweet, but... Seamus began.

But nothing. Susanna's face held that determined look that Seamus knew meant there was no arguing with her. You're our son, and there's no way you're going to be able to make it home in your car tonight.

Susanna placed the picnic basket on a small table Seamus used for meetings, and Raferty crossed the room to the window that Seamus had been staring out of only moments before. Raferty tapped on the glass. Seamus watched as Mine turned his attention toward the window again, and waved at Raferty. Raferty motioned for Mine to come inside with a confidence that Seamus wished he felt when dealing with Mine. I used to not be able to keep my hands off him, now my palms are sweaty and I'd be scared to touch him with them, Seamus thought.

I love the smile on that kid. Raferty turned from the window to face Seamus and Susanna. He's a good guy.

Yes, he is, Seamus agreed, nodding his head slowly, and then letting out a sigh.

    But? Susanna asked.

No buts, Seamus said. "He's a really nice
