INTRODUCTION
Let me take you back to when my mindset was as useful as a screen door on a submarine—especially in the workplace. It was yet another soul-crushing meeting on my calendar, one I was convinced would be a time-sucking vortex of irrelevance. As I begrudgingly gathered my laptop, I could feel the resentment bubbling—why was I stuck in this endless loop of meetings that drained my energy and led nowhere? I felt overwhelmed, frustrated, and dangerously close to sending a passive-aggressive email. Something had to change. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t the meetings—it was me.
I realized I couldn’t magically cancel every obligatory meeting (tempting as that was), but I could change how I approached them. So, I did a deep dive into mindset science, read every book I could find, and even hired a coach for a year (yes, I took this very seriously). Slowly but surely, my perspective started to shift. I stopped bracing for the worst and started looking for opportunities—to learn, connect, and contribute. And guess what? These weekly meetings went from being a mental battlefield to something I actually enjoyed. No, really. Instead of feeling trapped, I began seeing them as a chance to collaborate, exchange ideas, and—dare I say—be curious.
This transformation wasn’t some mystical enlightenment moment where the clouds parted, and soft music played. It was a mindset shift—pure and simple. And if I could go from meeting misery to meeting mastery, imagine what a mindset upgrade could do for every other area of life. Let’s dive in.
