The Sinister Jack-O’-Lantern
image-placeholderOnce upon a time, in the small village of Hollow Haven, there stood a haunted house at the edge of the woods. Within the broken-down house, a creepy garden grew, filled with twisted trees and eerie, overgrown plants. But the most chilling presence of all was a gigantic jack-o'-lantern that sat at the center.
Legend had it that this jack-o'-lantern possessed a wicked soul and would come to life on the night of Halloween, seeking to devour any children who dared to approach. All of the children in the village had heard the tales and were warned to stay away from the property.
One night, three friends were talking about the stories they heard about the house, and their curiosity got the better of them. They decided to investigate the haunted garden, doubtful of the danger awaiting them.
As the moon rose high in the sky, casting an eerie glow, these brave children gathered before the house. Amy, Bennett, and Claudia exchanged nervous glances, but their determination pushed them forward.
We should turn back,
whispered Bennett, his voice trembling at the thought that the stories might be more than just stories.
"No, we came this far, declared Amy foolishly, trying to sound braver than she felt.
We have to see if the stories are true."
